STEPS TO SALVATION

ACKNOWLEDGE

Recognize that you are a sinner and in need of salvation. To sin means you have fallen short of perfection. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

REPENT

Admit to God that you have sinned and repent of your sins. To repent means to experience a change of direction. Turn from your sins and to God. "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3) "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." (Acts 3:19) "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

BELIEVE

Believe that Jesus Christ is God's only provision for sin. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

RECEIVE

Ask Jesus Christ to save you. Receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13) "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10) "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12 )

Pray this prayer or one similar to it. "Dear God, I know that I have sinned. I am sorry that I have sinned against you. I repent of my sin. I ask Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for my sins, to come into my heart and life. Thank you for saving me."
